About MeProfessional Guide for Germany & Switzerland

For as long as I can remember, I have been bitten by the travel bug and have backpacked through countless countries. Soon after graduating from high school, I realized that traveling would also become an important part of my professional life. At the age of 18, I fulfilled my dream and traveled alone to the US to work as a counselor at various summer camps for six months—it was great fun! After gaining my first work experience at a hotel in the south of France and at a large radio station, I began my studies in political science and journalism. During this time, I spent almost every semester break working as a leader for youth and language trips throughout Europe. It was precisely this industry that I devoted the first years of my professional life to after graduating from university, gaining valuable experience with international colleagues, partners, and customers. After three years with a renowned language travel operator, my desire to start my own business grew stronger and stronger, initially in the field of organizing language trips and school trips.

At the same time, I also started giving guided tours of my hometown Frankfurt and the surrounding area. My passion for food and wine sparked the idea of culinary tours and day trips to nearby wine-growing regions. Initially, this was just a small side business, until contact with a US agency gave me the idea of developing fully organized trips. That was in 2017, and since then I have been offering day trips, multi-day tours, and complete trips in Germany. Of course, I have also devoted a great amount of time to scouting, that is, exploring potentially interesting locations.

Go with FloFrom solo backpacking to luxury guiding

In 2023, I spent several months in Switzerland and added the country to my portfolio. Most of my guests are from the US, but to a certain extent also from Canada, Australia, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, India, South Africa, and Mexico. I really enjoy showing people from all over the world the most beautiful places in Central Europe and introducing them to my culture, and it's no exaggeration to call my work an absolute dream job. Just thinking about how many wonderful, inspiring people I've met through fills me with immense gratitude. And I'm excited about the guests and trips I already have lined up.

In my free time, I also love to travel and discover the world, but in a slightly simpler way than I organize for my guests. I am particularly fond of mountains and forests—that's where I spend most of my time hiking, mountain biking, trail running, and skiing in winter. Otherwise, I enjoy good books (I'm a real bookworm), fine food and wine, and carefree moments with family and friends. Some of my former guests have actually become friends—another aspect of my job that makes me really happy and thankful.
